![]() ![]() ![]() Minions, the 2015 animated feature film, shows that they have existed since the beginning of life on Earth. While shown as somewhat absent-minded and having very mischievous streaks, they also possess exceptional engineering abilities, being able to design and construct spaceships and playthings for Gru's adopted daughters, particularly the youngest, Agnes. After leaving their home country of Switzerland in favor of a new life in America during the late 1960s, their clothing consists of blue overalls emblazoned with Gru's logo, black rubber gloves, shoes, and goggles. Most Minions appear either bald or with a few wispy strands of black hair on their heads. They are also shown without ears but can hear and respond to sounds. They have no discernible noses but seem capable of smelling, as they are shown smelling fruit and are affected by the Fart Gun. There appears to be no other difference between the two types beyond the number and color of eyes, and their height. They have three fingers and toes per hand and foot, respectively. They have one or two eyes, and their irises are almost always brown (except for Bob, who has one green and one brown eye). They are depicted as being roughly one-third to one-half the height of humans but they were later revealed to be 3 feet 7 inches (1.1 m) tall. The Minions are small, yellow capsule-shaped creatures with round gray glasses. They were created by Eric Guillon, Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. Many other Minions are mentioned by name in the films and other media in the franchise. Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are three of the most familiar minions, who appear as stars in the film Minions (2015) and its sequel Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022). The Minions serve as the official mascots for Illumination, and have also been described by The New York Times as "corporate icons" for Comcast in the years since their 2013 purchase of Illumination's parent company NBCUniversal similar to Mickey Mouse for The Walt Disney Company, Bugs Bunny for Warner Bros., Woody Woodpecker for Universal Pictures, SpongeBob SquarePants for Paramount Global or Mario for Nintendo. They are characterized by their childlike behavior and their language, which is largely unintelligible. Minions ( / ˈ m ɪ n j ə n z/) are an all-male species of fictional yellow creatures that appear in Illumination's Despicable Me franchise. But when a mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother Dru (also Carell) – a brother who desperately wishes to follow in his twin’s despicable footsteps – one former super-villain will rediscover just how good it feels to be bad.(From left to right) Stuart, Kevin and Bob, the main Minions seen in the film Minions (2015) After he is fired from the Anti-Villain League for failing to take down the latest bad guy to threaten humanity, Gru finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. “Despicable Me 3” continues the story of Gru (Steve Carell), Lucy, their adorable daughters-Margo, Edith and Agnes– and the Minions. The soundtrack album of the film will be in stores from June 23. Despicable Me 2 featured the Academy Award -nominated and Grammy Award-winning global smash hit “Happy”. Williams has written and produced songs and themes for the entire “Despicable Me” series. The soundtrack also features classic hits from the decade including Madonna’s “Into The Groove”, Nena’s “99 Luft balloons,” and a-ha’s “Take On Me.” Parker is featured on the infectious new song from William titled “Hug Me.” In addition to his five new original songs, the soundtrack gets a healthy dose of nostalgia, thanks to the series’ new villain, Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ’80s.īad never sounded so good, literally, as Michael Jackson’s “Bad” makes the perfect theme song for Balthazar Bratt. His anthemic “Freedom” serves as the perfect backdrop as the Minions plot their escape from prison in the film. Williams has just released “Yellow Light,” one of tracks he wrote and produced for the film and will soon be offering “There’s Something Special”, a tune that captures the tone of the series. ![]()
